José Rodrigues dos Santos, born in Mozambique in 1964, is a journalist, a professor at Universidade Nova de Lisboa and a writer. He began his journalistic career in Macau at the age of 17, before moving to the UK to work for the BBC. Returning to Portugal in 1990, he joined RTP, where he excelled as a news anchor. At the same time, he became a prolific author, writing novels that often address historical, scientific and political themes. Among his best-known works are “The Formula of God”, “The Codex 632”, and “The White Angel”, all of which have been translated into several languages. 

José Rodrigues dos Santos is also recognized for his war coverage, reporting conflicts in regions such as Angola, East Timor and Libya. Throughout his career, he has received several journalistic and literary awards, including distinctions from CNN and the Portuguese Press Club. His novels, which combine suspense and historical accuracy, have sold more than 3 million copies, solidifying his reputation as both a journalist and fiction writer.
