Bruno Duarte Eiras has a degree in History from the Faculdade de Letras of the University of Lisbon and a postgraduate degree in Documentary Sciences, in the area of Library and Documentation, from the Autonoma University of Lisbon. Since 2020, he is the deputy general director of the Directorate-General for Books, Archives and Libraries (DGLAB).
Previously, he headed the Library Services at the Directorate-General for Books, Archives and Libraries and was a member of the board of the Portuguese Association of Librarians, Archivists, Information and Documentation Professionals (BAD).
Bruno Duarte Eiras has a vast experience in public and specialized libraries, having coordinated the Oeiras Municipal Library Network for 14 years.
