On September 3 and 4, 2025, BOOK 2.0 returned for its third edition, held at the Champalimaud Foundation, a symbol of excellence, innovation, and progress in Lisbon.

Organized by APEL, the event was open to the public and brought together publishers, authors, researchers, and readers to reflect on the future of books, reading, and knowledge.

The Reinvention of Species
From the earliest cave paintings to the digital revolution, the instinct to tell stories has been one of the driving forces of human evolution. The need to transmit and preserve knowledge has shaped civilizations, fueling progress in science, culture, and society.

The third edition of Book 2.0 invited reflection on the role of knowledge and books in building the future. In a time of rapid transformation, marked by digitalization, the event encouraged participants to consider how access to reading and the promotion of literacy can help create a more conscious and resilient society.
