Edite Guimarães was born in Lisbon in 1977. With a degree in Geography and Regional Planning and a postgraduate degree in Library and Documentation, her professional career has always been linked to Culture. In 2004 she joined Lisbon City Council’s Culture team, first in the Library Network, where she was responsible for the Acquisitions and Technical Treatment Service, between 2010 and 2014, and then, in 2015, at the Direction of Culture, where she dedicated herself to strategic planning, namely the Strategies for Culture 2017, Agenda 21 for Culture, the ACCESS Culture for All project and the Commitment to Culture 2030, promoted by Artemrede, a project with which she continues to collaborate. Between 2020 and 2021, she coordinated the office of the Municipal Director of Culture and, since January 2022, she has been Head of the Lisbon City Council Library Network Division.
