Isabel Stilwell is a journalist and a writer.

Her great passion for historical novels was revealed in 2007, with the best-seller D. Filipa de Lencastre, followed by D. Catarina de Bragança and D. Amélia, always a growing success. Amélia, always with increasing success. Since then, she has written about D. Teresa, the mother of Portugal’s first king, Isabel of Aragon, our holy queen, Isabel of Burgundy, Filipa de Lencastre’s only daughter, as well as queens Maria I and Maria II.

In 2020, she ventured to tell the story of a king: D. Manuel I – Duas irmãs para um rei, a book that has already sold more than 30,000 copies and was published in Spain by Espasa. In 2021, she wrote the story of Inês de Castro, as no one has ever told it, in the book Inês de Castro – Spy, Lover, Queen of Portugal.

Since Diário de Notícias, where she started at the age of 21, he has made an essential contribution to Portuguese journalism. She founded and directed the magazine Pais & Filhos, was director of Notícias Magazine for 13 years and director of the newspaper Destak, among many other projects.

She currently writes for Jornal de Negócios, Máxima and Público.
