Margarida Balseiro Lopes is a PhD candidate in Law at the Portuguese Catholic University, a postgraduate student in Taxation at the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University, a master’s student in Law and Management at the Portuguese Catholic University and a law graduate from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.

Between April 2022 and 2024, she worked as a consultant at Deloitte Portugal. She began her professional career in 2012 as a tax consultant and was a member of the Portuguese Parliament between 2015 and 2022, serving on various parliamentary committees, such as the Budget and Finance Committee and the Education, Science, Youth and Sports Committee.

At political party level, she has been Vice-President of the PSD since 2022, and served as President of the JSD between 2018 and 2020.

Margarida Balseiro Lopes is currently the Minister for Youth and Modernization of Portugal.
