Paulo Portas, who holds a Law degree from the Catholic University of Lisbon, was the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of Portugal. He also served as the Minister of Defense and led the center-right party CDS-PP for 16 years. In 2016, he returned to the private sector. He is currently the President of the International Strategic Council for Latin America at Mota-Engil and a non-executive board member. He previously served as a board member of Pemex Gas Internacional. He is the founder of Vinciamo Consulting and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Champalimaud Foundation and the Royale Academie du Maroc. Additionally, he is the Vice President of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Paulo Portas is a professor of Geoeconomics and International Relations at Nova SBE and conducts seminars at the Emirates Diplomatic Academy in Abu Dhabi and the Pontifícia Comillas in Madrid.
He is the author and presenter of the program "Global," which airs on TVI television channel, which focuses on international politics.
