The Poet of the City is Pedro Freitas, a 25-year-old poet, reciter, performer, and cultural producer. 

He embarked on his artistic journey in 2014, participating in the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation's "Give Voice to the Letter" loud reading competition. Since then, he has been carving his path in the Portuguese literary and poetic landscape. 

Despite his recent presence, he has already established himself as one of the most well-known and listened-to poetry reciters in Portugal. The videos showcasing him while reading Portuguese poetry reach thousands of people worldwide through various social media platforms—from South America to Oceania, from Europe to Africa. He influences the younger generations to explore the world of Portuguese poetry, always with a distinct sense of aesthetics, quality, and a commitment to the art of poetry. 

In 2022, he independently publishes his first poetry book - "She, Metaphysically from Another World" - which becomes the best-selling Portuguese poetry book of the year. Simultaneously, he creates a poetic-musical show of the same name, which he presents in various sold-out venues across the country. 

He also works as a cultural producer at the Association "A Palavra," where he produces, among other projects, Portugal's first eloquence and oratory competition called "Voice - The Power of the Word."
