Helena Magalhães was born in Lisbon, in 1985. After learning and working in journalism for some years, she decided to dedicate her time to writing. In 2017, she wrote her first book Diz-lhe que não and in 2019 she published Raparigas como nós (Girls like us), that quickly became a bestseller in Portugal. A few years later, in 2022, she published Ferozes.  

Literary activist, Helena created the “Book Gang”, a digital book club with monthly suggestions of books, in order to draw the digital generation into reading more and to promote feminine literature.
