Following his participation in the 4th edition of BOOK 2.0 – The Future of Reading, Markus Dohle spoke to Visão about the place of books and reading in an age dominated by screens.
In the interview, the former CEO of Penguin Random House argues that books offer a deep and transformative experience, one that leaves people happier than simply carrying on scrolling. It’s a conviction shaped by a career devoted to authors, publishers, booksellers and readers, and one that now extends to defending the freedom to read and write through the Dohle Book Defense Fund.
The conversation builds on some of the ideas Markus Dohle brought to BOOK 2.0, where he spoke on 15th September, adding to the debate on the value of reading, attention and the future of the book.
