Manuel S. Fonseca is a publisher, cultural manager and columnist whose career spans the media, film and publishing industries in Portugal. A graduate in Philosophy, he worked at the Cinemateca Portuguesa, SIC and VC Filmes before founding the publishing house Guerra e Paz in 2006, which he has run ever since and which, in 2025, also took on Gradiva. He was a columnist for Expresso and Jornal de Negócios, with articles published in various magazines and cultural supplements, and is the author of several books, including biographies of filmmakers, essays, and works of memoir and reportage, such as Crónica de África (2023).
