Mattias Tesfaye was born in 1981 and is the current Minister of Children and Education in Denmark, a position he has held since December 15, 2022. He has a significant political career with the Social Democratic Party, representing Greater Copenhagen in the Folketing since June 2015 and previously serving as Minister for Justice and Minister for Immigration and Integration. Mattias Tesfaye has a varied professional background including roles as a lecturer and positions within the United Federation of Workers (3F) and the General Workers’ Union in Denmark (SiD).

In addition to his ministerial roles, Mattias Tesfaye has been active in politics from an early age, beginning as a candidate for the Social Democratic Party in Brøndby in 2014. He also served as the vice-chairman of the Socialist People’s Party in 2012. He has a strong commitment to labor and social issues as well as a significant role influencing Danish education, justice, and immigration policies.
