Vincent Minatozaki-Phan is a philosopher, former bookseller, and the founder and Editor-in-Chief of 1000 Libraries, one of the world’s largest independent literary media platforms. Born in Paris and based in Melbourne, he left a corporate career at thirty to become a bookseller and pursue a PhD in Philosophy at the University of Melbourne, before leaving academia to build 1000 Libraries – a fast-growing cultural media organisation on a mission to celebrate book culture in our increasingly digital age.

Today, 1000 Libraries reaches a community of 1.8 million readers, with a 100,000-subscriber newsletter and an editorial team of 40 generating more than 31 million impressions each month. Its bi-annual 1000 Libraries Awards has drawn over 200,000 votes across six continents, celebrating landmarks from Trinity College’s Long Room to Livraria Lello. Through two Kickstarter campaigns raising over $400,000, 1000 Libraries publishes books documenting the world’s most beautiful book places, with 50% of profits committed to literacy initiatives in developing countries through the 1000 Libraries Foundation.
